Non-Profit Orginations

I think this Heaven Sent Animal Rescue logo could be improved  to be really fresh and eye catching. At the moment it looks to cute and cuddly like a coloring book. even the font used gives the feeling that it is not a professional business. It needs to be simplified to be more versatile. I don't think this looks professional. I cant see this being used on letterheads or any other professional application very effectively.

Volunteers of Burbank Animal Shelter  has a well thought out logo. They have used the reversed out overlapping animals like many other animal companies do but the way they did it was well done. the spacing and size has created a very interesting connection of the animals. The font looks very professional but I wonder if it would have been a little more effective in a slightly different font. The serifs look a little harsh in comparison to the pictogram. The relationship of the type and the loge really creates a good shape that brings it all together.

Manufacturing

This company is an international company that makes furniture out of natural materials. I can see that it has a reference to trees, nature, and animals but it is just very overdone and the version with the outline is even more confusing. I don't think it is completely clear by looking at this symbol what the company really dose. It also has the potential to have a containment quality where the type could fit with in the logo, but maybe that would have made it look to cluttered. It is not completely bad it dose have somethings going for it. It has a good color combination very strong.

The logo is simple the C creates wall like an interior space giving it a visual explanation of what there company is about. The gray scale works well for the design and concept and gives its self a lot of potential with color and application. Even the font used has an architectural look that is very appropriate to the company. This has a very timeless look through its simplicity.

Services

DP&L is a regional electric energy and utility company, but to me this logo dose not have any clews of that. There is no elements that represent the feeling of an energy company. The color is to calm, the roundness of the shape is very static and that font used is very ordinary. There is zero visual interest and would have no meaning to its audience.

This logo is a good example of a good design solution for a utility company. The color is energetic, but even without the color the abstracted letter forms and the typographic solution creates a beautiful  solution that with one glance conveys energy and professionalism. They use varying font weights and a contrast of upper and lower case. Although may have been more effective with some slight changes, to me it looks a little off balance but maybe they were using that to give it the feeling of motion or energy.

Retail

I think this Logo dose not work because It has an almost scary feeling to me. Even though birds like baked goods I get the feeling this bird is going to attack me when I get out of the bakery.  The red bubble is confusing is it eating it or yelling Porras. the shapes seam inappropriate to me. Then there are the fonts used. They have no feeling of a bakery and do not work well together.

"Think Retail is a design company specializing in retail and exhibition design and complete brand strategy. "

This Logo is great the design was very well thought out. The typography is well aliened and shows that it is a fresh thinking company. the repetition of shape and color brings it all together. It looks very professional and could be used  in a wide variety of applications, and if they ever branched out could be easily converted by color to display there different branches.

Although it is reasonably simple I do not think the image conveys a good representation for a pediatrician.  For a Dr. this logo is a little scary. It is a bloody sharp shape defiantly not friendly to children. The circle head with the stethoscope gives the idea that it is a Doctor but not one I would take my kid to.

This design for Dr. Winnie Su Family Medicine and Obstetrics has simple shapes that are to represent a wide variety of people to show they treat the entire family. This design would work in all black and white and would still clearly show there practice, but the color fits the medical profession. It is kinda funny but inviting and friendly hopefully a good representation of there practices.

Comparing Logo Designs

Comparing logos and there effectiveness to bring recognition to the company or origination is determined by a variety of design factors and how well they are executed. I have done a little research and here are a few good and bad examples of logos designs. In this blog I hope to give some examples and explain the reasoning I had.
